The job description

Job Type: Contractor (~10 hours per week)

Schedule: Flexible-you choose the hours and days you work, including weekends if desired

micro1 is engaging Senior Claims Investigation and Evidence Review Experts to contribute to a specialized customer project focused on detecting staged-loss and fraudulent claims. In this role, you'll apply your expertise to help train next-generation AI systems. Your work will shape how models learn, reason, and perform through high-quality, real-world input. No prior experience in AI is required — your domain knowledge is what matters.

Scope of Work

  1. Analyze digital claim evidence including CCTV and dashcam footage, scene photographs, statements, and engineering reports to identify signs of fraud or staged incidents.
  2. Reconstruct accident or loss events by reviewing visual and documented materials, synthesizing findings to clarify causation and authenticity.
  3. Provide detailed written assessments suitable for SIU investigators or forensic engineers, outlining clear reasoning behind each determination.
  4. Identify and articulate patterns or anomalies that may indicate fraudulent activity, leveraging deep forensic and investigative knowledge.
  5. Collaborate remotely to support the creation of cutting-edge AI datasets, ensuring accuracy and reliability of input data.
  6. Maintain clear, professional communication through both written reports and verbal discussions as needed for clarifications or feedback.
  7. Contribute insights and best practices from special investigations, fraud analysis, or forensic engineering to enhance project outcomes.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in special investigations, SIU, insurance fraud detection, forensic engineering (PE), or fleet safety review.
  2. Demonstrated expertise in assessing claim evidence, including visual media and technical reports, for legitimacy and causation.
  3. Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with a proven ability to detect subtle signs of staged-loss and organized fraud schemes.
  4. Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities, with emphasis on constructing clear, evidence-based findings.
  5. Experience authoring reports or affidavits for legal, forensic, or insurance industry purposes.
  6. Advanced familiarity with modern digital evidence types, including video, photographic, and telematics data.
  7. Previous remote consulting or advisory experience is a plus.
