How we pick

One formula for every open listing, run on each daily refresh. It only reads the job data and our platform grades. Platforms can't pay to be picked.

Posts over a year old are never picked. Today's pick comes from the last two days; if nothing there qualifies, we look back three, then four days and show the real post date. This week's picks come from the last 7 days, with at most two per platform so one busy board can't fill the list.

A weekly pick needs a score of 60+ and, for hourly pay, a top rate of at least $49/hr. Open a row in the table to see its five parts.

Scores often tie. A tie goes to the higher top rate, then to the job open in more countries, then to the newer post. If today's pick isn't open where you live, the home page shows the best pick that is, with a switch back to all countries.

The scoring formula
PartPointsHow it's worked out
Pay40Top hourly rate against the typical top rate across all listings ($70/hr today, from 1,713 listings). Full points at 2.5 times that rate or more. Per-task or one-time pay gets 8.

Payout record15Our 1–5 grade for how reliably the platform pays. Grade 1 = 0 points, 5 = full points, in even steps (4/5 = 11.25).
Steady work10Our 1–5 grade for how steady the work is once you're in. Grade 1 = 0 points, 5 = full points, in even steps (2/5 = 2.5).
