The job description

About the Role

What if your years of biology expertise could directly shape how AI reasons through the most complex problems in genetics, biotechnology, and bioinformatics? We're looking for Biology Specialists with advanced degrees to help build and refine cutting-edge AI models — designing rigorous problems, stress-testing scientific reasoning, and ensuring AI gets the hard stuff right.

This is a fully remote, flexible contract role built for researchers and scientists who want meaningful, intellectually stimulating work on their own schedule. No prior AI experience needed — just deep domain expertise and a commitment to scientific rigor.

What You'll Do

  • Develop, solve, and review advanced biology problems with real-world scientific relevance
  • Apply your expertise in genetics, biotechnology, bioinformatics, or related fields to design complex, high-quality problem statements
  • Evaluate AI-generated biological reasoning for scientific accuracy, depth, and clarity
  • Collaborate asynchronously with AI researchers and fellow domain experts to strengthen model performance
  • Ensure all deliverables meet high standards of scientific rigor and precision
  • Work independently on task-based assignments — fully on your own schedule

Who You Are

  • Holds a Master's or PhD in Biology or a closely related field (Genetics, Molecular Biology, Bioinformatics, Biotechnology, etc.)
  • Deep expertise in at least one of: genetics, biotechnology, or bioinformatics
  • Comfortable working with Python or R for research or data analysis
  • Exceptional written communicator — able to explain complex science clearly and precisely
  • Detail-oriented, methodical, and self-motivated when working independently
  • Fluent in English

Nice to Have

  • Experience with data annotation, data quality evaluation, or AI training workflows
  • Background in academic research, scientific publishing, or laboratory work
  • Familiarity with computational biology or biostatistics
  • Experience reviewing or grading advanced scientific work

Why Join Us

  • Work on cutting-edge AI projects alongside the world's leading AI research labs
  • Fully remote and flexible — work when and where it suits you
  • Freelance autonomy with the structure of meaningful, intellectually stimulating work
  • Put your advanced degree to work on problems that actually matter — at the frontier of AI and life science
  • Potential for ongoing work and contract extension as new projects launch
