The job description
About the Role
What if you could use your finance expertise to teach AI systems to reason about numbers the way a seasoned analyst does?
We're looking for experienced finance professionals in the Washington, DC area to review AI-generated financial analysis, judge whether it holds up, and correct it where it doesn't. You'll assess answers on tasks like financial statements, valuation, and modeling, flag flawed assumptions or calculations, and explain your judgment clearly in writing.
Your expertise will help determine whether AI models can reach the conclusions an experienced finance professional would reach, and where they fall short.
This is a remote, hourly contract opportunity for US-based professionals who want to apply their finance knowledge to an emerging area of AI development.
Position Details
Organization: Alignerr Type: Hourly Contract Location: Remote (US-based, must be legally eligible to work in the US) Commitment: Typically 25–35 hours per week, based on project demand Engagement: Work is dynamic. Volume follows project demand and may pause or end at any time without notice.
What You'll Do
Evaluate AI-Generated Financial Analysis
Review AI responses to finance questions and tasks, including financial statement analysis, valuation, and modeling. Assess whether the methodology is sound, the numbers are right, and the conclusions follow from the analysis.
Identify and Correct Errors
Spot calculation mistakes, flawed assumptions, misapplied methods, and unsupported conclusions. Write corrected answers that reflect how an experienced finance professional would approach the problem.
Provide Clear Written Explanations
Explain what is wrong, why it matters, and how to fix it — with the clarity and precision you would bring to an investment memo or client deliverable.
Who You Are
- 5+ years of professional experience in finance, with deep knowledge of financial analysis
- Skilled in financial statements, valuation, and financial modeling
- Able to critically judge AI-generated answers and tell a sound analysis from a plausible but wrong one
- An excellent, precise written communicator
- Legally eligible to work in the US
- Comfortable with variable weekly hours that follow project demand
Relevant Expertise
Experience in one or more of the following is particularly valuable:
- Financial statement analysis and accounting
- Valuation, including DCF, comparables, and transaction analysis
- Financial modeling and forecasting
- Corporate finance, investment banking, private equity, or equity research
- Experience with government finance, policy economics, or regulatory financial analysis
- Credentials such as CFA, CPA, or similar
Why You'll Love This
- Apply your expertise to AI development. Help shape how AI systems handle financial reasoning.
- Work remotely from your own location — no commute, no office.
- Flexible contract structure — work on your own schedule around existing commitments.
- Meaningful work. Your judgment directly improves the quality of AI systems used by people worldwide.
