The job description

About the Role

Your ability to spot what actually breaks in production — not just what looks risky on paper — is exactly what the next generation of AI needs. At Alignerr, we partner with the world's leading AI research labs to build smarter, safer AI systems. We're looking for experienced application security professionals to help teach AI how to think like a seasoned security analyst.

This is your opportunity to do work that genuinely matters: your real-world security knowledge will directly shape how frontier AI models assess, prioritize, and remediate software risk.

What You'll Do

  • Analyze realistic application security scenarios spanning code, APIs, authentication flows, and system behavior
  • Classify and triage vulnerabilities — from injection flaws and auth bypasses to subtle business logic issues
  • Evaluate the quality of secure coding practices and proposed remediation strategies
  • Create and validate security-focused reasoning datasets that teach AI how to accurately assess application risk
  • Distinguish genuinely exploitable vulnerabilities from theoretical or low-impact findings
  • Provide structured, clearly written security analysis that AI systems can learn from

Who You Are

  • 2+ years of hands-on experience in application, product, or software security
  • Solid familiarity with the OWASP Top 10 and how common vulnerabilities manifest in real production environments
  • Strong instinct for real-world exploitability — you know the difference between a theoretical risk and an actual threat
  • Clear, structured written communicator who can explain security reasoning logically
  • Self-motivated and comfortable working independently on async, task-based assignments

Nice to Have

  • Experience in penetration testing, bug bounty, or secure code review
  • Familiarity with threat modeling or risk-based vulnerability prioritization
  • Background working across multiple tech stacks or cloud environments
  • Prior involvement with AI, data labeling, or security research

Why Join Us

  • Work directly on frontier AI systems alongside top-tier research labs
  • Fully remote and async — work on your own schedule, from anywhere
  • Freelance autonomy with the opportunity to work on intellectually stimulating, high-impact problems
  • Your expertise directly influences how AI understands and responds to real-world security challenges
  • Potential for ongoing contract extension as projects scale
