The job description

About the Role

Your advanced chemistry knowledge is more valuable than you think — and not just in a lab. We're looking for Chemistry Master's students and graduates to help train and evaluate some of the world's most powerful AI models. You'll use your scientific expertise to challenge, test, and improve how AI reasons through complex chemistry problems.

This is a fully remote, flexible contractor role working alongside top AI research teams. No prior AI experience needed — just a strong chemistry background and the ability to think rigorously.

What You'll Do

  • Design advanced chemistry problems to rigorously test AI performance across domains like chemical engineering, biochemistry, and physical chemistry
  • Develop clear, step-by-step solutions with precise, well-reasoned logic
  • Evaluate AI-generated outputs for scientific accuracy and quality of reasoning
  • Collaborate with researchers to build and refine benchmarks spanning undergraduate to Master's-level chemistry topics
  • Provide structured, actionable feedback that directly shapes AI model development

Who You Are

  • Currently pursuing or have completed a Master's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, or a closely related field
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills across advanced chemistry domains
  • Able to communicate complex scientific concepts clearly and precisely in writing
  • Detail-oriented with a systematic approach to evaluating quality and accuracy
  • Self-motivated and comfortable working independently on an async schedule
  • No prior AI or data annotation experience required

Nice to Have

  • Experience with data annotation, data quality assurance, or evaluation workflows
  • Familiarity with large language models or AI research
  • Background spanning multiple chemistry sub-disciplines

Why Join Us

  • Work on cutting-edge AI projects with leading AI research labs
  • Fully remote and flexible — work on your own schedule, from anywhere
  • Freelance perks: high autonomy, variety, and global collaboration
  • Make a meaningful impact — your chemistry expertise directly improves how AI handles scientific reasoning
  • Potential for ongoing work and contract renewal
