The job description

Job Type: Contractor (~10 hours per week)

Schedule: Flexible-you choose the hours and days you work, including weekends if desired

micro1 is engaging Senior Flight Operations Experts to participate in a specialized project supporting a global aviation client. In this role, you'll apply your expertise to help train next-generation AI systems. Your work will shape how models learn, reason, and perform through high-quality, real-world input. No prior experience in AI is required — your domain knowledge is what matters.

Scope of Work

  1. Conduct detailed reviews of real flight operations documentation, including instrument approach plates, flight plans, NOTAMs, weather packages, and operational manuals.
  2. Perform comprehensive procedure briefings or identify operational issues, providing clear rationale as a captain or dispatcher would.
  3. Assess flight planning materials for accuracy, clarity, and regulatory compliance in accordance with Part 121, Part 135, and ICAO standards.
  4. Identify and explain potential hazards or ambiguities in approach procedures, operational documentation, or regulatory references.
  5. Deliver concise written and verbal briefings to support project training objectives and clarify operational scenarios.
  6. Collaborate remotely with project coordinators, providing timely feedback and professional insights on submitted documentation.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Active or recently held Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL) or Commercial Pilot License with 5+ years of operational experience as a pilot or dispatcher.
  2. Demonstrated expertise in briefing instrument approaches and interpreting operational documentation.
  3. Thorough understanding of regulatory operations compliance, including Part 121, Part 135, and ICAO requirements.
  4. Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to assess and articulate operational risks and solutions.
  5. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a keen attention to detail in documentation review and briefing delivery.
  6. Prior experience with airline or corporate flight operations, either as a pilot or dispatcher, is highly valued.
  7. Comfort working independently in a fully remote and flexible project environment.
