The job description

micro1 is engaging Federal HR Specialist (Employee & Labor Relations) experts to support an innovative AI evaluation project for a government-focused customer. In this role, you'll apply your expertise to help train next-generation AI systems. Your work will shape how models learn, reason, and perform through high-quality, real-world input. No prior experience in AI is required — your domain knowledge is what matters.

Scope of Work

  1. Develop and articulate realistic federal HR scenarios and case studies grounded in Employee & Labor Relations, drawing from practical experience.
  2. Craft detailed reference answers and rationales based on federal HR policy and best practices.
  3. Review, assess, and provide constructive written feedback on material submitted by fellow subject-matter experts.
  4. Ensure project deliverables accurately reflect the nuances of federal HR decision-making, especially in Employee & Labor Relations contexts.
  5. Collaborate with project coordinators to resolve ambiguities or identify areas needing additional depth or clarity.
  6. Maintain clarity and precision by documenting the reasoning behind recommendations and scenario responses.
  7. Adhere to defined project guidelines, milestone requirements, and quality standards for all deliverables.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Current or former federal HR experience at the GS-0201 or GS-0260 series, or equivalent level in government service.
  2. Extensive, practical knowledge of Title 5 HR matters, including employee relations, labor relations, classification, or workforce restructuring.
  3. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts clearly and concisely.
  4. Direct hands-on experience managing or advising on adverse actions, grievances, or appeals within a federal context.
  5. Background in position classification, rating and ranking, or experience with reduction in force processes.
  6. Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in scenario development and feedback.
  7. Based in the United States, familiar with current federal HR policies and procedures.
