The job description

About the project

We are seeking Mexico-based contributors who are fluent or near-native in Spanish to support a remote data collection project.

Participants will use their smartphones to capture high-quality photos of everyday objects, provide basic information about each item, and include a corresponding product URL where applicable. The collected images will be used to support the development and improvement of AI technologies.

This is a flexible, remote opportunity that can be completed on your own schedule.

What you'll do

  • Take clear, high-quality smartphone photos of everyday objects.
  • Capture objects across categories such as household items, electronics, clothing, food, books, toys, tools, outdoor items, signs, and other common products.
  • Provide the required metadata for each image.
  • Provide a valid product/reference URL for submitted objects where required.
  • Follow project-specific photography and quality guidelines.
  • Incorporate QA feedback and resubmit assets when corrections are needed.
  • Work toward an agreed weekly delivery schedule with the project team.

Requirements

  • Must currently reside in Mexico
  • Must be fluent or near-native in Spanish
  • Must have a smartphone capable of taking clear, high-quality photos.
  • Must have access to a variety of everyday objects that can be photographed.
  • Able to accurately follow detailed project and quality guidelines.
  • Reliable and able to commit to an agreed weekly asset-delivery schedule.
  • Must complete required project consent/agreement documentation before beginning.

No professional photography or previous AI data collection experience is required.

Expected workload

Contributors will work with the project team to establish a weekly delivery schedule.

  • The current target is approximately 100–400 approved photos/assets per week, depending on the language, project priority, and contributor availability.
  • There is no fixed hourly schedule. Contributors may submit additional qualifying assets throughout the project, subject to project guidelines and QA approval.
  • The current project deadline is October 30, 2026, although timing may change depending on overall asset delivery.

Compensation

  • Compensation is paid per approved asset.
  • Rate: $1.00 USD per approved asset
  • Only assets that meet the project's quality requirements and pass QA will be eligible for payment. The project team will provide detailed guidelines and feedback to help contributors meet the required standards.
  • At the expected productivity rate, this may equate to roughly $13 USD/hour, although actual earnings will depend on the number of qualifying assets completed and approved.
