The job description

About the Role

What if your eye for film, your love of visual storytelling, and your ability to find the right words could directly shape how AI understands and recreates the moving image?

We're looking for Visual Storytelling Prompt Writers to watch video clips and translate what they see into richly structured prompts — capturing mood, camera perspective, character, setting, and narrative so that AI models can learn to interpret and extend visual scenes with real cinematic intelligence.

This is a fully remote, flexible contract role. No professional filmmaking experience required — just a genuine passion for visual storytelling and the writing skills to put it into words.

What You'll Do

  • Watch video clips and write structured prompts that capture the essence of each scene
  • Describe characters, settings, camera angles, lighting, pacing, and emotional tone
  • Balance technical cinematographic detail with narrative and atmospheric context
  • Produce multiple prompt variants to cover different interpretive angles when required
  • Follow style guides for wording, specificity, point of view, and prompt structure
  • Work independently and asynchronously — fully on your own schedule

Who You Are

  • Strong writer with a clear, precise approach to describing the visual world
  • Naturally drawn to film, video, photography, or visual storytelling in any form
  • Able to articulate what makes a scene work — without relying on dialogue or captions
  • Detail-oriented and consistent when applying prompt-writing guidelines and examples
  • Self-motivated and reliable when working independently
  • No professional experience in film or AI required

Nice to Have

  • Background in screenwriting, film criticism, photography, or creative writing
  • Familiarity with cinematography terminology — shot types, framing, colour grading, etc.
  • Experience writing creative briefs, art direction notes, or production documents
  • Prior exposure to AI image or video generation tools as an end user

Why Join Us

  • Work on cutting-edge AI projects alongside leading research labs
  • Fully remote and flexible — work when and where it suits you
  • Freelance autonomy with the structure of meaningful, task-based work
  • Use your creative instincts to make a direct impact on how AI sees and understands the world
  • Potential for ongoing work and contract extension as new projects launch
