How is this worked out?

The calculator multiplies your rate by your hours: weekly is rate × hours, monthly is weekly × 52 ÷ 12, yearly is weekly × 52. Nothing is guessed or adjusted.

The reference rates come from every open listing on Rubric that states an hourly rate, counted once at the top of its range: the same typical top rate used across the site. Posts more than a year old are left out. Per-task, one-time and yearly listings (44 today) and listings with no pay (58) are left out too. A field with fewer than 5 hourly listings shows "not enough data".

The top of a range is what the best-qualified people get. If you are new, expect the lower half. For pay by platform see the pay report; for payouts and tax, how AI trainers get paid.

Other questions people ask

How much can you earn from AI training jobs per month?

At the typical top rate of $70/hr, about $3,033 a month at 10 hours a week and $6,067 at 20 hours, before tax. Half of the 1,713 open listings that state an hourly rate top out between $42/hr and $105/hr.

Which AI training field pays the most per hour?

By typical top rate on open listings: law ($120/hr, 99 listings), finance ($100/hr, 145 listings) and medical ($100/hr, 138 listings). Audio is lowest at $40/hr.

Are these hours guaranteed?

No. A listing rate is what a project pays while it has work for you. Most platforms pay only for hours you log on tasks they hand out, projects pause without notice, and unpaid assessments and onboarding come first. Treat the result as what the hours would pay if the work is there, not a salary.

Why are per-task and yearly jobs left out?

A per-task, one-time or yearly figure can't be turned into an hourly rate without guessing how long the work takes. 44 open listings pay that way and 58 state no pay; the reference figures use only the 1,713 that state an hourly rate.
