The job description

Mercor is seeking experienced Clinical Research and Survey Methodology Experts to support the development and refinement of physician-focused healthcare market research surveys. The ideal candidate combines deep clinical expertise in specific diseases or therapeutic areas with hands-on experience in healthcare market research, survey design, and questionnaire development. You will help ensure that surveys administered to healthcare professionals are clinically accurate, scientifically credible, appropriately structured, and relevant to real-world clinical practice. This is an opportunity for an ongoing collaboration across multiple therapeutic areas and research initiatives over the coming months.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and refine physician-facing surveys across various diseases and therapeutic areas.
  • Review survey questions for clinical accuracy, medical relevance, clarity, and appropriateness for the intended physician audience.
  • Translate complex clinical concepts and research objectives into well-structured, unbiased survey questions.
  • Apply established market research methodologies to improve questionnaire design, response options, survey flow, and data quality.
  • Evaluate surveys for clinical terminology, treatment pathways, diagnostic criteria, patient management practices, and therapeutic relevance.
  • Collaborate with research teams to incorporate feedback and maintain consistency across survey projects.
  • Provide expert recommendations to improve survey validity, physician engagement, and overall research quality.

Required Qualifications

  • Advanced clinical or scientific degree: MD, DO, PhD, PharmD, or equivalent qualification in medicine, clinical research, or a closely related discipline.
  • Clinical expertise: Strong understanding of specific diseases, therapeutic areas, treatment guidelines, and real-world clinical decision-making.
  • Healthcare market research experience: Demonstrated experience designing, writing, reviewing, or validating healthcare professional (HCP) surveys.
  • Survey methodology: Familiarity with questionnaire design, survey logic, response scales, question bias, and research best practices.
  • Experience working with pharmaceutical companies, healthcare market research agencies, life sciences consulting firms, or clinical research organisations.
  • Strong written communication skills and the ability to translate complex medical information into clear, actionable survey questions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in healthcare market research, clinical survey development, or related research activities.
  • Previous experience developing surveys targeting physicians, specialists, or other healthcare professionals.
  • Familiarity with platforms such as Qualtrics, Forsta, Decipher, Alchemer, or SurveyMonkey.
  • Experience in therapeutic-area-specific market research, including treatment journeys, prescribing behaviour, clinical decision-making, and unmet medical needs.
  • Experience supporting multiple research studies across different disease areas.

Why Join Mercor?

  • Ongoing Collaboration: Opportunity to participate in multiple healthcare research projects over the coming months.
  • Apply Your Expertise: Combine your clinical knowledge and research methodology experience to improve the quality of physician-focused surveys.
  • Meaningful Research: Contribute to projects that help healthcare and life sciences organisations better understand clinical practices and physician perspectives.
