The job description
About the Role
What if your voice could directly shape how AI understands and communicates with millions of people? We're looking for professional voice actors and voice-over artists with authentic Scottish accents to take part in paid studio recording sessions for a leading AI speech research project.
This is a rare, well-compensated contract opportunity for voice talent based in Scotland. Sessions are limited — and your accent is exactly what we need.
> Important: This project involves recording natural human speech for AI training purposes. It does not involve voice cloning.
- Organisation: Alignerr
- Type: Contract
- Sessions: 2–3 sessions of 4 hours each
- Format: In-person professional recording studio (locally assigned in Scotland)
What You'll Do
- Record natural, conversational Scottish English speech in a professional studio environment
- Participate in single-speaker sessions and dual-speaker dialogue recordings
- Deliver realistic, human-sounding dialogue that feels unscripted and authentic
- Follow light creative direction to vary tone, pacing, and delivery
- Bring your genuine Scottish accent to life across a range of conversational scenarios
Who You Are
- A professional voice actor or voice-over artist with demonstrable experience
- A native or near-native Scottish English speaker — your accent is your superpower here
- Currently based in Scotland (in-person studio attendance is required)
- Comfortable recording natural dialogue and adapting to light direction
- Reliable, professional, and easy to work with in a studio setting
Nice to Have
- Acting or performance background
- Experience in broadcast, podcast, or commercial studio recording
- Prior work on audio, narration, or character voice projects
Why Join Us
- Work on cutting-edge AI research alongside leading AI labs and research teams
- Competitive, region-specific contract compensation for your time and talent
- Be part of a project that shapes how AI understands real human speech — with your voice
- Short-term commitment with clearly defined sessions — no open-ended obligation
- Contribute something genuinely meaningful to the future of human-AI communication
