The job description

About the Role

What if your voice could directly shape how AI speaks to millions of French speakers around the world? We're looking for professional French-speaking voice actors and voice-over artists to record high-quality audio and evaluate AI-generated speech — helping frontier AI systems sound genuinely human.

This is a fully remote, flexible contract role built for experienced voice professionals. No AI background needed — just exceptional vocal delivery, fluency in French, and a professional recording setup.

  • Organization: Alignerr
  • Type: Hourly Contract
  • Location: Remote
  • Note: This work does not involve voice cloning.

What You'll Do

  • Record high-quality voice samples in French from provided scripts and prompts
  • Evaluate AI-generated speech for naturalness, expressiveness, and pronunciation accuracy
  • Provide clear, constructive feedback to improve the quality of AI-generated French audio
  • Review and refine scripts to ensure clarity, flow, and authentic delivery
  • Work independently and asynchronously — fully on your own schedule

Who You Are

  • Experienced voice actor, narrator, audiobook reader, or voice-over artist
  • Fluent in French with a strong command of natural, expressive spoken delivery
  • Equipped with a high-quality microphone and a quiet, professional recording environment
  • Naturally detail-oriented — you notice subtle differences in tone, pacing, and pronunciation
  • Self-motivated and reliable when working independently without supervision

Nice to Have

  • Experience with audiobook narration, commercial voice-over, or broadcast media
  • Familiarity with audio recording software or digital audio workstations
  • Knowledge of regional French variations — European, Canadian, African, or otherwise
  • Prior exposure to AI tools or speech evaluation workflows

Why Join Us

  • Work on cutting-edge AI projects alongside leading research labs
  • Fully remote and flexible — record from your own studio, on your own schedule
  • Freelance autonomy with the structure of meaningful, task-based work
  • Make a direct, tangible impact on how AI speaks to French speakers worldwide
  • Potential for ongoing work and contract extension as new projects launch
  • Gain first-hand exposure to how advanced AI speech systems are built and trained
