The job description
About the Role
What if your expertise in epidemiology could directly shape how population-level health data is understood, interpreted, and acted upon? We're looking for a Senior Epidemiologist to evaluate complex epidemiological models, dissect study designs, and surface the insights that drive real public health decisions.
This is a fully remote, flexible contract role built for experienced epidemiologists who want meaningful, intellectually rigorous work — on their own schedule.
What You'll Do
- Review and validate epidemiological models, including underlying assumptions and analytical frameworks
- Interpret population-level health data and identify the key drivers behind observed trends
- Assess study methodology for sources of bias, confounding, and misclassification
- Summarize findings in structured, scientifically precise formats suitable for expert audiences
- Evaluate relationships between interventions, risk factors, and health outcomes
- Support recurring reviews of surveillance data and public health reports
Who You Are
- Deep background in epidemiology, public health, or biostatistics
- Strong command of study design, statistical inference, and causal reasoning
- Experienced analyzing large, complex health datasets with rigor and precision
- Able to communicate nuanced scientific findings clearly and concisely
- Self-directed and comfortable working independently on substantive analytical tasks
Nice to Have
- Experience in infectious disease modeling or clinical epidemiology
- Familiarity with surveillance systems or public health data infrastructure
- Background in peer review, scientific writing, or health policy analysis
Why Join Us
- Fully remote and flexible — work when and where it suits you
- Engage with serious, scientifically substantive work that matters
- Freelance autonomy with the structure of meaningful, task-based assignments
- Contribute to work that informs real public health understanding at scale
- Potential for ongoing work and contract extension as projects evolve
