The job description
In this hourly, remote contractor role, you will work as an SEO & Digital Marketing Subject Matter Expert (SME) to review AI-generated SEO/marketing outputs and/or create expert digital marketing content, evaluating reasoning quality, strategy fit, and step-by-step decision-making while providing precise written feedback. You will assess solutions for accuracy, clarity, brand fit, and adherence to the prompt; identify issues in search intent alignment, keyword strategy, on-page SEO, technical SEO logic, content structure, measurement/attribution, and compliance/claims risk; fact-check where needed; write high-quality explanations and model outputs that demonstrate best practices; and rate and compare multiple AI responses based on effectiveness and reasoning quality. This role is with SME Careers, a fast-growing AI Data Services company and subsidiary of SuperAnnotate, delivering training data for many of the world’s largest AI companies and foundation-model labs. Your SEO and digital marketing expertise directly helps improve the world’s premier AI models by making their growth strategy, search optimization, and marketing writing more accurate, reliable, and clearly explained.
Important: There is no immediate project for this role; however, if qualified, you will be among the first experts we reach out to when relevant opportunities arise. This will also provide you with access to future projects available through our expert network.
Responsibilities
- Develop AI Training Content: Create detailed prompts and gold-standard SEO/digital marketing outputs (content briefs, strategy notes, optimizations, analyses).
- Optimize AI Performance: Evaluate and rank AI responses to improve intent match, correctness, clarity, and practical applicability.
- Ensure Model Integrity: Test AI outputs for inaccuracies, brand-risk claims, policy/compliance pitfalls, and bias; validate reliability across use cases.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Marketing, Communications, Business, Journalism, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
- 5+ years of professional experience in SEO and/or digital marketing (in-house, agency, or consultancy).
- Strong command of SEO fundamentals: keyword research, intent mapping, information architecture, internal linking, content briefs, SERP analysis.
- Working knowledge of technical SEO and site health: crawl/indexation, canonicalization, redirects, sitemaps, Core Web Vitals basics, schema.
- Strong analytics and measurement instincts: GA4, Search Console, dashboards, experiment design, attribution caveats.
- Ability to evaluate writing and strategy for clarity, structure, persuasion, and brand voice, including landing pages and SEO blog content.
- Exceptional attention to detail when spotting weak logic, overclaims, hallucinated facts, or risky marketing claims; minimum C1 English proficiency.
- Reliable, self-directed, and able to deliver consistent quality in an hourly, remote contractor workflow across time zones.
- Previous experience with AI data training/annotation, editorial QA, content ops, or performance marketing review is strongly preferred.
