The job description
About the Role
What if your voice could directly shape how AI understands and communicates with millions of people? We're working with leading AI research teams to improve how AI systems process and interpret natural human speech — and we need professional UK English voice actors to make it happen.
This is a paid contract role involving in-person studio recording sessions at a professionally equipped facility local to you. The work is straightforward, the pay is competitive, and the impact is real.
> Important: This project does not involve voice cloning. Your voice will be used solely to improve AI speech comprehension.
- Organisation: Alignerr
- Type: Contract
- Session Format: 2–3 sessions of 4 hours each
- Location: Professional recording studio (locally assigned within the UK)
What You'll Do
- Record natural, conversational UK English speech in a professional studio environment
- Participate in single-speaker sessions and dual-speaker dialogue recordings
- Deliver realistic, human-sounding speech that feels unscripted and authentic
- Follow light direction to vary tone, pacing, and delivery as needed
- Bring energy, consistency, and professionalism to every session
Who You Are
- A professional voice actor or voice-over artist with real recording experience
- A native or near-native speaker of UK English with a strong, authentic accent
- Currently based in the United Kingdom
- Comfortable performing natural conversational dialogue — not just scripted read-throughs
- Reliable, professional, and receptive to direction in a studio setting
- Fluent in English at a working level for communication and collaboration
Nice to Have
- Acting or performance background
- Prior experience in broadcast, podcast, or professional studio recording
- Familiarity with dialogue-driven or character-based recording work
Why Join Us
- Work on cutting-edge AI projects alongside leading research labs
- Competitive contract pay for a focused, time-limited commitment
- Be part of meaningful work that shapes how AI understands real human voices
- Straightforward sessions with clear direction — no complex technical requirements on your end
- Potential for additional sessions and future project involvement as new work launches
